Isn't it the other way round i.e. they increase the price in one store and then later they can then sell it at a slightly lower price throughout all stores and say 'Sale, previously sold at £xxx'?

I will always maintain there should be a tag for all deals called "Verified National" that users can click on to filter their front page. That way, if you want regional deals (i.e. a sticker in a regional shop) to hit your front page you can. Likewise, if you aren't interested in the wild goose chase you can filter them out for ONLY national deals with one button click.
I'd love that. Tbh I'm quite tired of seeing 800 heat going to a deal then going through the comments to see 3 people managed to get it!

I think retailers clocked how much of a good deal 149 with fifa was and sharp found out they could easily get 149 for the console alone. Worth every penny of that 149

I suspect that, in the coming weeks, we will have the PS4 Slim plus a latest game for £200.
Apparently the Slim is slightly quieter and consumes less power so, perhaps, it is worth playing a bit more for it.

Yeah I wouldn't bet against you.
On the slim: with the PS3 the difference in hardware generations made a big difference with the noise IME, i.e when I replaced mine with a slim it meant I could keep it in the cabinet and still couldn't hear it. The fattie sounded like an airliner taking off. Does anyone know if the difference is as big with the PS4? Mine certainly is airliner territory again.
