Still stock in many shops, and probably a better option now that it seems the online ordering requires £20 top-up as it should take a while before the shops implement the increased to-ups.
Use the EE STORE FINDER and ring around to confirm price and availability of handset.
Several shops without stock have confirmed they would get new stock delivered on Friday, 4th November.
For those mentioning about the £8.99 charge for the unlocking, this cost usually comes out of the mobile top-up balance from EE PAYG phones, so even if you are charged, you will not have to spend any extras (as you've already that to pay for the £10 top-up). Obviously, that will leave a £1.01 balance on your SIM, which should not be a big deal since what most people will be interested in is the actual handset, not the £10 top up. Of course you will need to make sure your balance can cover the cost of the unlocking.
In spite of the thread from a few weeks back saying that EE should now be unlocking PAYG handsets for free, it seems as if the website is contradicting such information. Going through the unlocking online at myaccount.ee.co.uk the message seems to be that still costs £8.99. No big deal. Worst case scenario you use the top-up money for the unlock, best one, you get to keep the £10 balance and an unlocked handset.
