All credits for this deal goes to MSE. I am just posting it here for HotUKDealers to ensure they don't miss it!
1. Sign up. Use this specific link* – the deal's exclusive to MoneySavingExpert.
2. Choose to pay line rent upfront if you can afford to. It's cheapest if you pay the £185.88 year's line rent upfront (equiv £15.49/mth). It's then £17.99/mth after. If you don't pay line rent upfront it's £17.99/mth for the entire 12-month contract. You choose which option during the application.
3. Broadband's 'free' for the 12-month contract. If you stay after the contract it's £9.99/mth or £17.49/mth depending on where you live, so diarise to switch at this point.
4. £80 cashback - it's sent automatically. Ensure you use the link above and you'll receive a cheque for £80 within 60 days of your broadband activation date.
5. Pay by direct debit. Or there's a £1.50-per-payment extra charge.
You maybe able to get cash back too to reduce this cost further but I am unsure. Good luck and time to switch!

I have plus net and I would not recommend anyone, very bad customer service and the broadband speed is very slow at times no connection. I have to pay 30 cancellation charges as I want to move to relish broadband, it takes hours to speak to someone.

I'm a current Plusnet customer and kind of regret because it's not a very good ISP but any chance they'd lower the monthly cost to this deal's package by talking to them? If so, what should I say?

Always worth a call to say else you'll move. Alternatively you can always give a notice and get it in your partner or anyone else at your property's name. Worth a call definitely. I am with sky and the service is ok (minus router). I have read it's similar story with plusnet too - so worth a consider!

I just switched my package with TalkTalk (from one tarrif to another). They messed it up to the extent that they actually disconnected my phone / internet. My issue has now been escalated to the Office of the CEO for resolution. This is the second time this has happened with TT. Last time they screwed up & had no phone / internet for three months.
Yes, that's right, 3 months.
As it happens I also have a BT Business line (as I work from home) so I was able to avoid disaster.
My suggestion? Avoid.
The only reason I haven't switched suplplier is that I am afraid that they will mess that up too.

This works around £8.82 a month. This should go super hot. Not sure what they mean by 'only available in low cost areas'

If you want there router its going to be £6.99 extra for P&P "Get the latest wireless-N technology router, worth £40 "
I think its worth getting the router so they dont blame your router if and when you have issues.
Fibre not bad either for £5 extra a month but then no £80 cashback.

I've been with plusnet for years and found them fine sorting out the couple of issues I had quite efficiently. I used on line chart rather than the telephone to deal with my issues. They were very 'strict' about keeping their online deals separate from there telephone deals.

Been with plusnet for the last 4 years. Don't really have any problems, speeds don't really bother me, every year I call em up, they offer me the same deal. Not much to complain about.

Moved to Plusnet from Sky 2 months ago and that wasn't good decision. Speed dropped down around 1MB, numerous drop outs in a few months. Sky was rock solid. Customer service is a joke. Never again.

You can call and cancel your contract under OFCOM regulation. Write a complaint and say its service level is unacceptable and hence needs to be released from contract with mac code. If you don't get a favourable answer then post a complaint via Resolver

A few days ago they were giving £80 cash back direct from their website (without going through MSE), that meant you could then go through Topcashback and earn an extra £60. so you may want to wait for that offer to reappear.
At the moment plusnet are offering £50 cashback direct on their website plus £60 Topcashback, would make it £110 and still work out better than going through MSE.
Having said that Topcashback is not guaranteed....

Won't make any difference I am guessing as plusnet is owned by BT
so put in your partners name meaning they are the payee, direct debit holder or is partners name just on the account registration, meaning I can use the same payment details for direct debit in my name
aca03mk
19 Oct 16#20
You can put your partners name on the bill. You can later switch to your bank direct debit.

So as I am an current on plus net BB customer if I apply again online via mse offer obviously once I get to my end of contract. Would I be eligible for this and the cashback in my partners name?

Funny how different people have different opinions on customer service. I am a BT fibre customer, and have received poor customer service, being put through to numerous Indian call centres, and having to explain the same problem all over again, to representatives with varying English language skills. It took a long time to sort out my problem. My dad is with plusnet, and I sort out his IT. They have been superb, spoke to someone who spoke clear, and they sorted the problem out very quickly. They didn't even charge, even though part of the problem was my dad's dodgy wiring! And, he pays significantly less than me, for a far superior download speed.

no consistency in customer service then - that can be seen as a bad thing. But I think with every provider you get haters aswell as lovers. Depends your draw of the hat all providers are the same.

I know what you are saying, but, cannot agree with all of it. Talk Talk, for example, were notoriously bad, for many years, yet someone in this thread recommends them. But, I know many people who would never go back to them. For me, I had heard that whilst BT were more expensive, their customer service level was superior. In my experience it was not.
It often comes down to problems; if everything goes smoothly from day 1, and you get no problems, then you have no need to contact customer service, and feel blessed. If things go wrong at some point, then you find out how good they are. As far as I know, BT own plusnet anyway, and they are far cheaper.

I can get fibre fttc but running on budget so having to stick with ADSL.

I ended up cancelling them when I moved. broadband had been fine but tried calling numerous times only to hang up after an hour of "30 minute wait times". When I just conceded and decided to stay hold I was that feed up of calling them I just cancelled and paid the exit fee. by the way that phone call took about 1 hour 30 minutes... not good enough, however still better than the Indian call centres... sky service just went live. hope they are better....

I could not recommend BT at the moment. I raised a complaint online last week, and asked that they contact me after 5pm, as that was an option on the form. They have contacted me 3 times, which is good, but each time at lunchtime, which is no good for me. Thay have left voice messages, but I can barely make out a word.
Grrr.

I'm with these and wouldn't recommend their standard internet. Not if you have 2 phones n half a dozen consoles in the house.
Wanted to leave, was persuaded to try the fibre unlimited for an extra fiver a month.
It's good, but still couldn't recommend em, purely out of the last year's CS BS.

I've had awful experiences with plusnet to the point that I couldn't not comment on this. Appalling customer service and frustratingly unreliable. I would genuinely pay more to go with anyone else...like I just have! I can't wait to be free of them.

They're saying "You don't have a compatible phone service" and chaging me £50 to install a new line but I was with them a year ago and nothing's changed in the meantime! I wonder if it's because I'm with Sky just now? Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Some people like plusnet, others loathe them. My personal view is I wouldn't p**s on them if they were on fire. Connection would constantly drop in the evening and terrible customer service. If you intend to use their landline, please get the bolt on anytime calls option. We didn't bother and didn't realise that they charge a connection fee for every call you make . Only found out when we got stung for a £200 bill at the end of the month!

Plusnet started charging me £10/mth for internet after my 12mth deal ran out. Told them to match Sky free internet but I'd be happy without the cash Sky were also offering. Plusnet told me to get lost even though they were offering free internet. Went with Sky for free internet plus £100 and get 100kb/s quicker speed.
