To produce these they went back to the original 35mm negatives and put the episodes together from scratch, putting all the separate passes together and so on. Almost everything was done "in camera", the very few CGI elements were done again from scratch but done to reproduce the original faithfully. Season 2 of the Blu-ray the visual effects was outsourced to a different company who didn't do quite as good a job, they weren't used again. Everything else is pretty much perfect, and the show looks better than most shows made today due to the incredible production values at the time. They put an obsessive amount of detail in that would never be visible in standard definition, it is only now in the Blu-ray release you can truly appreciate the work they did.
Honestly apart from the 1.33 aspect ratio it looks like it was made yesterday, this release is that good!

Great value, although the show itself feels slightly dated now. Shame they won't give DS9 or Voyager the BD treatment - can leave 'Enterprise'.

I actually felt that a lot of the stories were actually really relevant, and after the remaster it doesn't look bad at all compared to some of the current sci fi around.

Dammit. If I hadn't ordered a PS4 I'd get this. Love this series.

Were these filmed in HD? I would go for this if I hadn't rewatched them 100 times on netflix and SyFy .
