Now that PES 2017 has been released and the reviews for it are outstanding, this is the cheapest I can find it online. I've ordered it today. Yes it could be had cheaper on pre-order, but my time machine is currently in for servicing.
Option file sharing on PS4 allows for all the real kits, team names and league badges to be added easily.
No way.... It's totally the other way around, pes 2017 feels like football and is far more realistic (only FIFA lets John terry outrun Ronaldo)

I’ve read this a lot but personally I never had a single connection issue on PES 2016. Rarely had lag during games (maybe slight lag every one in ten), never disconnected from the server and whenever maintenance took place I was notified in advance and it was scheduled for the early hours of the morning.
I have had some lag on MyClub last night, more like a framerate issue occurring randomly during games probably due to the strain on the servers. This is a widely reported problem and will definitely be patched.
That being said I do have Virgin fibre optic broadband with low ping. Might be worse for people with ADSL lines.
In contrast to FIFA I find that it can regularly kick you from a game due to losing connection to server, errors always happen in UT when TOTY cards are released i.e. cards become stuck in your trade pile for days on end and you don’t get the player/coins from a sale and unannounced maintenance is always scheduled for evening GMT time which really annoys me.
Just get whichever you like, my personal opinion is that PES 16 was much superior to FIFA 16 but I’ve had every FIFA since FIFA 10 so I like both games.

Been playing it recently and don't see the problem. I think a lot of people are quick to blame servers instead of investigating their own line and ISP proper. There's a bit more to your line than just the download speed which affects quality.

Last two seasons for me, Pro evo has surpassed fifa by miles. last year fifa looked terrible and played horrendous. On the other hand pro evo looked great and the gameplay was perfect. This year I played the demo and loved it..... this was the game to get. Then on played fifa 17 last night and I quite surprised. Graphics look amazing and plays a bit better. For the first time in many many years..... I will have to buy both. Fifa 17 for the presentation, names, graphics and legend mode. PES for the better gameplay and not too bad graphics.

Wasn't impressed by FIFA 17's demo to be honest, but I still have to try the new story mode which might be a deal breaker for me. I love NBA's career mode and it would be great to see FIFA get some love as well. I just wish FIFA had all the extra features that are present in NBA2K16, the pre-game, the post-game, the fans, the interviews, the talks, etc etc. would be much more immersive.

It's not always the fault of the game servers. I know what I'm talking about. People are quick to point the finger without actually looking into the stability of their own line and latency which will have an effect on game lag.

Can't see it being that low a price in the next couple of weeks. Can't decide which footie game to buy this year. Prefer the gameplay of PES, but I was disappointed with online play last year. u must be new to PES online. PES server is abysmal since 2012. I owned PES 2016 on PC and PS3. myclub and division is already abandoned after half year since first release. PC is even worse as lag cheaters dominate the PES online community. There's no way you can play division games, myclub or even friendly match because over 50% players are lag cheaters. Your team players will delay their movements by almost 0.5 seconds because of the flipping lag. In a week of time you will give up all the online modes.

Not saying issues at the ISP level don't exist, but having played past PES games online, the servers have been consistently bad while, at the same time ive not had near as severe issues with other multiplayer games. It's clear Konami aren't as adept with how they roll out their multiplayer compared to other companies (MGS:V's online features was also a hot mess for a long while)

Last couple of years I had Fifa, but have been buying Fifa a year out of date as never worth full price IMO. I did briefly have PES 2016, it was good but for me the high scoring games and naff goalkeepers soon made it unplayable.
Konami seem to have (based on the demo) rectified the issues that PES 2016 had so it should be a great game. I am on XB1 so there is the kit issue. But Fifa demo IMO is nothing special as it's the same old. So looking to pick up PES 2017 will probably wait until it's £25 mark. A good version of PES is better than a good version of Fifa IMO.
