Very tempted by this seeing as the Thermostat on its own is £149.99 through Prime and I have already preordered a Dot and an Echo.

I could be wrong but don't think this will control a separate hot water tank in addition to the heating? Those looking to be able to control both will need evohome, nest 3g, or a hive?

Or in my case tado which also does geolocation and switches on the heating when it knows people are on their way home. I never touch the settings now - it just works at maximum efficiency. I'm not sure any others manage that quite as well.
It does the water on a schedule.
I've never really understood the need to have heating and water control at your fingertips except on rare occasions when it's suddenly too cold or the tank runs out or something.

Unless you are zoning your heating with summat like the Evohome, this claim simply isn't true.

Netatmo or nest? I think the nest looks nicer and seems to have more third party support (IFTTT etc)

Not sure hot water control is necessary. Lot of people now have combi boilers
I have a standard boiler with a tank and hot water just comes on twice a day and if im away I turn it off. Water stays warm for 48 hours in tank anyway so coming on twice a day probably only burns for around 5 min if it's not been used just to top the temperature up.

For me personally, if I'm spending approx £150 I want a kit that will cater for my whole system without having to keep effectively two programmers in order to control heating and hot water.
Not taking anything away from the deal though, If I had a combi I'd be all over this.

Netatmo. The company I work for fits it with every new heating system. We used to fit Tado but had installation problems with some Tado and switched to Netatmo.
