Due to change in legislation, Halfords are offering 20% off high back booster seats when you trade in an 'old style' booster seat.

Yes they brought in the new legislation for fun, just because you didn't end up severely injured sat in your 'estate car' doesn't mean it's safe. Times move on, safety moves on, lives get saved, if one child gets saved it's worth it

The legislation coming in December is only for new car seats purchased when the law is introduced. Current boosters will still be allowed.

How will they know when you purchased one? Keep receipts! Second hand products will be passed on. Mine hated the back part. Luckily it could be removed.
What is the evidence that this law is required? I remember the day when children sat in the estate section of a car.
Nanny state.

dont blame the messenger, just letting you know in case you think you need to buy a full seat to comply with law. the booster i have, has date of manufacture, obviously not when i bought it.

My son loves his high back booster. I feel better with him being in it too.

Do you feel better as your driving style is poor? Do you speed, run a red light and use a phone whilst driving?
Only joking!
I'm past this stage in life. I sat in the estate part of a car, sat in the front and back of cars without seat belts.
My children had car seats and could not wait to get rid of them (they are for babies)!
Do 10 year olds want to sit in a car seat with a back? A booster seat is bad enough.

Thanks op, been looking at the recaro monza seat fix for a few months, this is best price
Halfords didn't ask for my old booster seat either, so looks like you could give it ago without one

I don't speed or text, talk, snap chat whilst driving. My life and my passengers are too important. As are the lives of the other road users and pedestrians I pass.
I don't use the best seats chosen through reviews and safety tests to please anyone else. They are not a fashion statement or a bragging piece. I use them to hopefully keep my children as safe as I can should the worst happen. I was also a child in cars with seat belts only. Driven with none etc and I'm still here. Doesn't mean I would do the same with anyone in my car now.

Traded in my booster seat today as it doesn't sit in new car properly and they scan a code that gave 40% off. Happy days.

Can I ask how you got 40% off rather than 20%?

Just reserve one of these and if they ask for the old seat produce your reservation number and see if they have enough front to make you buy it.
Good old Halfords!
