I bought one last time round for £70 and in my opinion the build quality is FAR from poor, quite the opposite actually.

Bought one a couple of months ago to replace my aging HP ml110 server... Sadly build quality is a world away from the ml110 and the t20 has been relegated to be my lab esx server.
I think the deal minus the hdd with Cashback was way better I'm afraid so cold from me

I'm looking for some advice please, need to get something to run ESXI on, I need to set up some LABs as well a VM for general donkey work like torrents etc. What was the issue with the ML110, been looking at these on the bay. The CPU on this seems it might not be up to it and I would be better with a XEON. Also it needs to be quiet. Any advice ?

I have one of these, great little machine. Sure it only cost me about 70 quid after cashback. Are they not doing that anymore?

Cold.
Was much cheaper with cash back offers, and likely will be again.

I have the Xeon version and got it in January for £150 odd. Can't fault it after buying some non-ECC ram

Interested to hear what non-ECC RAM members can confirm they have working in the Xeon. I want to get 16gb to top up the 4gb that it ships with, but don't necessarily need the ECC capability (or extra cost!).

I took interest to replace my mini server in this reading specs.....
Networking
Cabling technology10/100Base-T(
Ethernet LAN connection Yes
LAN controller Intel 82579
Ethernet interface type Fast
Seen the networking and wrote it off. All other specs look OK. You would have to purchase a network card for this to be any good as a server. Beware this if you are buying. I have no idea why anyone would even consider 100mbit lan interface these days let alone put it in a server. I dont even see the cheapest of laptops without a 1gbit port. Even most wireless connect faster these days. Rant Over
Googled LAN controller Intel 82579 and it appears to be a gigabit controller anyone know if the website might just be wrong?
Not voting until I know lol

The website is wrong and it is gigabit. Every time a deal on this server comes up somebody asks this. It is definitely gigabit per many people on several different forums over the period these servers have been on deals.
