Saw this on offer when I did a shop in Aldi last night.
"Coconut oil is believed to have lots of exciting health benefits, ideal for both culinary and cosmetic use."
Bargain when compared to other brands! These seem to be around £5 elsewhere!

You're joking right? As an avid fan of HUKD I can tell you now that no one will go to that level of research for a product. As I pictured above, this product is merely the next snake oil in a long list of snake oils. For those not up to speed on what that means it's basically a product that pertains to add something (in this case health benefits) when in reality it is no better than the norm (i.e veg oil etc).
There is no justification for adding it to the diet on top of the usual consumption of other fats. There is no credible evidence to support any of the many health benefits claimed for using it as a supplement.
Searching for any journal article on it in any medical journal gives 0 results for coconut oil + Alzheimer research etc.
Add to that "it's 300ml so good value" - yeah, so is 1 litre of veg oil for £1.20! There is absolutely no scientific evidence to promote this product, only fabricated user tests by suppliers of said product. But still, with all that said, the masses will flock to buy this, as they will the next snake oil out, and the next, and the next.
