Sign up to Which? magazine subscription for £1 and instantly you'll receive a £20 discount voucher via email (off orders over £150). This can then be cancelled before your sub trial ends. Use the voucher for the Dyson. I checked everywhere and this is the cheapest I could find.
Dyson Outlet on eBay are selling the same V6 model for £179.99. But they are refurbished models.
NOTE. You have to sign up for the which trial via the link on the appliancesdirect website. I was wondering why I signed up directly a couple of days ago and didn't get a voucher. that's why.

Also, from research, the only difference between the purple and silver V6 and the maroon V6 Absolutes (which are £80-100 more) is the Absolute comes with more accessories for different floor types and it has a HEPA filter for allergy sufferers. A filter that traps pollen or other allergens which the standard V6 does not.
IMO the premium is not worth it even though I have a mild dust-mite allergy myself.

I'm sure some users on here said the v6 battery life isn't great compared to the absolute. although I'm not 100% sure as I own neither.

Good to hear. Eagerly waiting for mine to arrive. Me and my partner both hate vacuuming with the hot, noisey, heavy and tangly vacuums we've had over the years. This will be a revolution for us.

I found the same with our animal version. We spoke to a dyson demo woman last weekend just by chance and she told us how to clean it. Hold the battery with two hands so your thumbs rest on the opening lever, then the gunk drops out. Press again to get the dust bowl off, then brush around the metal filter. This is the bit i didn't know - you have to bash the exposed open plastic tube thing on some softish surface, - we've just done that, and lots of crusted up dust was dislodged from high up. I'm sure this would have caused a problem with clogging sooner or later. You have to also clean the small filter - did that today too, and with a bit of rinsing, then tapping/banging, quite a bit more crud (i.e. compressed fine dust) dropped out of that. The problem is the crud can't be seen until it's dislodged - i though mine was really clean until today.

It does make vaccuming addictive, amazing how much comes up considering we vacuum once a day.

Not true. They have the same battery and 'Up to 20 minutes of powerful fade-free suction'. Bloody confusing though why they have so many models.
Whoa I feel like a slob now, once a day?! Guess that's why we need one of these to encourage vacuuming regularly. We vacuum barely once.....a month now as the vacuum we have is so noisey, hot and blows out more dust than it seems to suck up after I used it to pick up loads of filler dust from sanding.

How long do these take to charge?

I think about 90mins or so.
They last for 20mins.
But I've managed to hoover our house 21/2 times over on one charge.
Obviously it does depend on the size of the house.
