I have poweramp, one problem I have is when on holiday with no internet connection is poweramp checks to ensure app is licenced, when it cant verify this it will not work. Not much good when you want to listen to some music when yo are abroad. Going to give this a try

This is one of the oldest and top players. I have used most other players mentioned above. Poweramp is good but if not on Wi-Fi, you'll never know when the license check by the paranoid dev strikes really. He does not so much updates, neutron player is by him too and same problems will be there as he moves on. Another good one is JetAudio plus paid version. What do all these have in common for me to use? They let me list music not by confusing playlist systems or whatever weird algorithm listing hundreds and thousands of albums & songs. They let me set a folder on my SD card (0MP3) as my music folder to show and start with at launch, then each artist or genre has a folder then inside each artist folder, each album has a folder.

The above mentioned plus this PlayerPro let you do that. In menu button, settings, music library, music folder: pop-up box appears & click top check box then navigate to your music folder and go inside and set it.

To browse by folder, or any other playlist, at homepage on launch, swipe right, you'll see under browser categories: browse by folder, and the rest.

In settings, look and feel, choose to download more skins, a few dark ones are nice like Carbon, kk, iOS.

For browse by folder default is list but for other playlists it's the bigger horrible "grid" look which is icon size. To change the other browser types icons grid to list, in settings, BROWSERS, click on LAYOUT for each browser type, change to list. Gives you much more on screen acreage than grid. OF course browse by folder is always list as said.

When you click on download more skins as mentioned above, you'll see DSP pack by the dev too, install it as improves quality and is free.

Has widgets too. From many players I've used, this playerpro, poweramp and jetaudio plus are the ones I use regularly. My advice, buy it while it's cheap for a short while. Google subsidises these sales of big names, might not be this cheap again. Poweramp dev designed and coded his app based on this good old PlayerPro which has a free version too but I think it's got ads. This is the original and probably still the best. Get it.

Thats strange as ​I've never had this issue with PowerAmp on my device.

I recently migrated to GoneMad having used PowerAMP for about a year, no reason, just fancied a change. For 10p (of survey earned Play credit) I think I'll give this a go now :wink:

Downloaded the trial version to try this out. I like what I see so far, but wondering if the player has support to access NAS devices?

Very likely to buy this as it is a very good looking app and for 10p, you can't really complain.

excellent player, very similar to the eleven player for cyanogen which stopped working on my phone so this is an ideal replacement. I hated poweramp the look and feel of it is awful IMO.
I know it's only 10p but you can download cyan apps then install eleven player from there if you want a very similar app for free :wink:
