They mean Gb surely. Also, it's not a problem because you'll never in a billion years get 1200Mbps down a powerline.

Issue with power line adapters is its all theoretical anyways. Mostly likely this also means 600up 600down rather than a flat 1200 to what's needed most. Either way great prices for gigabit passthrough. Almost got a 600 passthrough for £31 the other day! My current wiring is on the frits sadly :/

good kit for good price. got TP link starter ones with 100mbit/s the transfer rate is very high between the connectors - 90mbs/s.

I have the av500 (500Mbps) I get about 60Mbps. Circuit related i would imagine,

Whatever it means - it will be slower than a gigabit ethernet.
Powerline is not duplex, which means bandwidth being split between uplink and downlink. Effective speed will be no higher than 0.6 gigabit. Gigabit port is required thought, because there is nothing between 100 Mbit and gigabit. 100 Mbit would be much slower than 600 Mbit.

There's a utility on the included CD or the TP link website that will show you the actual connection speeds between all the powerline adaptors on your network.
Always plug them directly into the wall. Extension cables and surge protectors will make these things struggle.
