But the point is it's £279.. Of course a 65 inch samsung 4k 3d tv is going to blow this away but it also isn't going to be anywhere close to £279.. So irrelevant. This is good tv for the price

Yeah a Samsung or LG 65 incher would cost well above 1000 quid. I suspect there are at least a few people reading these forums who like the idea of a large screen TV but cannot spare that kind of money for the privilege.
It would be nice if all of us could drive Ferraris or Teslas, but most make do with Fords or Vauxhalls BECAUSE THEY GET YOU FROM POINT A TO POINT B.
But one does come across the odd comment on the internet that a Ferrari drives far nicer than a Vauxhall.

Yeah don't buy a TV for its 'smartness'. Very few manufacturers keep up with API updates from app owners so within a few years your smart TV becomes a proper dumb TV. Pick up a cheap Chromecast, FireStick or one of those cheapo Android boxes doing the rounds on here (though no Netflix HD on any of those) and you'll have much better support for a few more years. Once they stop being supported, just pick up a newer box for another 30 quid.
