I have one in my coffee machine so that I can put water and coffee in before I leave the house, then switch it on via the internet when I'm on my way home so that I've got fresh coffee waiting for me when I get in. Oh, and it's also got SickRage running on it to manage the TV shows on my NAS drive (I used to run that on the NAS drive itself but it slowed it down so I thought I might as well put it on the Pi in the coffee machine as it's on 24/7 anyway). Yeah, why don't they just charge us £6.50 for the Pi and give us free postage? That would be better!

£2.50 delivery on a £4.00 item, more than 50% of the item cost just on postage, only in the UK!
Why can't they stick it in a 2nd class envelope for 55p?!

What are your interests? Combine something you like with the Pi to make things easier.
I've thought of a poker clock via bluetooth remote for my local pub game. Should be easy enough although may take me a Month to complete.

Are you trying to imply that we are getting fleeced for it here? It's £3.60 (after the voucher deduction). Which is considerably less than $5 (even using Paypals conversion rate). You think Americans don't pay sales taxes or for delivery?

i tried writing a live camera feed with the latest pi. but it's just not powerful enough to encode live streaming data. you literally need to have 1fps JPEG images. which I guess isn't so bad for security software. but having an actual live streaming feed, encoded by ffmpeg just doesn't seem feasible

Is it worth paying the extra to have all inclusive ie WiFi etc on a 'full' board? I realise it depends what it's going to be used for, I'm thinking perhaps a security cam. I'm toying with an emulation box... and even a VPN...
Yours, undecided!
