Does that include inter courses?

I agree completely regarding accreditation and potential false advertising of 'original' costs, but if you would like to learn more about a subject you're interested in they are well worth it at £1! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of teaching and interaction.
Towards the end of the course they will try to promote the 'reduced' lifetime membership option. Just don't be taken in by it (I'm sure no true hukd-ers would be that gullible!), and all will be fine.

The photography course is very good, and the student card a definite bonus for the extra £12.

No. TBH, the only requirement appears to be that you say you are a student (in this instance: at "The Shaw Academy"). You can do a dummy run by entering any email address at the NUS card sign-up page and progressing an application up until the payment stage. All seems far too casual and open to abuse.

The courses are pointless & the "qualifications" absolutely worthless as they are more introductory courses & they are not accredited by any approved examination board......
By all means do it if you want an NUS card but the courses will not achieve anything....these courses are always being offered at this "discount" or even free....they have never been £199

Fair observation, but credibility is attempted by most of the course certs showing the CPD logo https://cpduk.co.uk/

what else did you expect for a pound. A bachelor's degree in science?

Incorrect!
I attended the course for the knowledge they provide (not for a fancy Certificate) and for the money I spent, it was well worth it. I only paid £2 so whether the original price is £199 or £99 don't bother me
