Surely the voting should be on whether this is a better price than elsewhere, not how this relates to one of your deals on a completely different game?? Pointless statement.

Christ, why does this narrative still exist? Did people say "But what do I do?" in Elite back in the day? Or more recently for Minecraft?
It's a sandbox game. Not the fake kinds like in GTA, etc, that has an open world but very little interactivity with those assets. But a true physics based sandbox game.
The main goal (which you can choose to ignore) is to reach the centre of the universe? Why? No one knows. It is for each of us to find out what is there.
That then begs the question of how you get to the centre. With fuel. Both for general travel and for those big hyperdrive jumps. And you can only get that by spending credits. And you can only get credits by..... Well that is up to you. Explore and catalog planets and wildlife / plants. Mine and procure elements / minerals from planets / asteroids. Become a pirate and attack passing spaceships and cargo, stealing their loot (but then becoming a wanted man). Participate in wars between different factions.
It is up to you how you get those credits. Thing is, you might come across pirates after your loot. Or go against tough factions. That means you need to upgrade your ship. And you do this with credits also. You might want to land on a planet rich in elements that goes for a lot of credits, but the planets atmosphere is hostile, so you need to upgrade your suit. And that needs credits.
See, there's your gameplay loop. Your explore as far as you can survive, and you survive as long as you can upgrade, and you upgrade as much as you explore.
And the closer you are to the centre. The more the laws of the universe starts to bend. So, as we get closer, we should see rather impossible things. And most likely more dangerous things.

Now I understand a little bit better and it makes more sense.
I said what I said because I just hadn't heard the sort of thing that you just put in your post.
Thank you for enlightening me a little bit about the game :sunglasses:

Thanks a lot, OP! Had a pre-order on Amazon for £46. I'm really psyched about this game... have been following them for more than 2 years now. I hope it turns out to be good.

But what do you do on all of these planets? I still don't understand what this game is about - the devs have said the chances of bumping into other players are slim to none, which to me, begs the question - what do I do apart from find planets and walk around on them?
Maybe I missed something but it isn't quite adding up in my mind right now how this is so hyped apart from the scale of it.

Looks interesting to me. I saw this video this morning. Seen this deal then bit.
The lowest price for this was 35.95 when there was a 10% pre order code few weeks back on game collection that's when I ordered As my daughter has been so excited for this. This is the next best price there's been for it! Just hoping the 10 th August release date don't get pushed back again as my daughter will be gutted!
