3)Call up/go online and pay off the £24 left on the device plan
4)Cancel the Data plan.
Yes, you can cancel the data plan once you've paid off the device, no you won't have to pay for the 24 months of data.
Can't see this cheaper anywhere, even Cex want £55 for the WiFi version.

Good deal. Heat added. I have done refresh deals nearly 5 times now. Cancelling the contract was a pain even after paying for the device. Plenty of calls n chats with CS..

I done it once myself few years ago for a iphone 5s I think , and it was a nightmare. I heard that doing this refresh deals and cancelling contracts affects your credit rating? is this true?

From other posts it looks like people might have been unlucky and the payments weren't fully canceled, but they only noticed when they had an issue on their credit report. If you check your O2 account when the bill was due to go out you should be OK.
That or they tried to take out a bunch at once and it looked a bit sus.
