Sony aren't everyone's cup of tea but I have a z3 and I really like it - so much that I don't feel the need to upgrade. If I was feeling the need, I may go for this...

pls do NOT... i got it from from o2 fresh for £183.99 last Wednesday, and will send it back tomorrow. The well documented overheating issue is so terrible, if you browse the website for over half an hour, you cannot even touch the back of the phone. Stick with you Z3 or get yourself an improved Z5 with a dual heatsink to combat the problem. Z3+ is a terrible phone unless you want to use your phone to boil an egg.

The snapdragon 810 strikes again, the chip overheats. I had a rant on the ZTE thread about this very chip, avoid the chip like the plague unless it's the 2.1 version, even then wouldn't trust it.

Yes. Get a phone with an 810 to escape overheating issues.

I'm returning my Z5 to EE tomorrow due to overheating - the problem really doesn't seem to have been fixed unfortunately

I've had iPhone after iPhone.
Went for a change last year and wish I'd done it years ago.
Never had an issue with this phone.
you can do so much more and it's waterproof and has a 20mp camera!!
ticks all the boxes for me folks!

z3+ has the toasty hot 810 so z3 might still be better.
and z3+ is £184 on the o2 refresh deal mentioned above...
I have the same rear camera in my Meizu MX4 Pro and it's very impressive indeed. Mind you, that can be picked up for as little as 107 quid at the moment....

Good point ...
But the Sony 'Z' range Phones are allllllll waterproof to 3 Meters, etc?.
Is the Phone you referenced waterproof too?, or .... I'm interested in a half decent Phone as well (that hopefully happens to be waterproof too, etc, etc?), thanx.
Can't be arsed again with Phones screwing up plenty when small bits of water from rain falls upon them, &/or when they fall into the bath, etc?, lol.

Where is it £107?

No, the Meizu isn't waterproof but TBH it really isn't a feature that would top my list (I've never ever had water damage occur on any of the many mobiles I've owned). Things like a QHD+ screen, real HiFi DAC, and incredibly useful, advanced function fingerprint scanner come way higher for me. Not to mention a crazily cheap asking price, of course :man: But each person's requirements are different, I guess.

That's more like a downgrade rather than upgrade. That model should've been called Z3-

Z3+ was not the brightest idea at the time of release - had the overheating SoC and wasn't much of an improvement over Z3, but at this price it's ok. Just watch the fragile glass on both sides - maybe get a case.

Agreed, the Z3+ was not a particularly good 'upgrade'. If you have the Z3 it's unlikely you'll notice any difference if you upgrade to the Z3+ - it was a very incremental 'update'. Jump to the Z5 and it'll be worth it.
Perhaps Sony UK realised that it was lacking in the upgrade specs, hence the "Z3+" name - in a lot of other countries it was the Z4 (which is why we then jumped straight to Z5 afterwards).
I've got a Z3, after the Z and Z2, great phone just wish they'd give us more internal memory, it's a constant battle trying to keep moving everything over to SD.

You can't use it underwater, when sealed and turned off it is waterproof, try using it underwater and you'll break the phone
False advertising if I ever saw it. for 250 squids you can get so much more, look at a Xiaomi folks, or perhaps and LG G3 or 4, this is basically a portable frying pan

I used my Z3 in monsoon like rain with no problems though. Not sure about underwater!
Ive had my Z3 for 18 months now and still only need to charge it every 2 days - more than I can say for most phones!

I think you'll find that review is of the 'lesser; model, the MX4. The MX4 Pro is a whole different beast. The specs I listed earlier should have given you a big clue....
Great phone, Hi Res audio and waterproof with a 20 mp camera and a full days battery life! What else do you need?

Not sure about the + but my Z3 lasts 3 days before it runs out, I usually charge it every 48 hours.
Sony has to be the best when it comes to battery life. My wife has to charge her iphone twice a day most days.

It's on ebay. Granted, from an Asian seller and with no real warranty (return to China for repairs). But the spec for the price is ridiculous (but no sd card slot so not for users who use a lot of apps/music etc)
Yes but a source is needed to show where exactly this Meizu is £107 like you said, as I had a quick search and cant find it close to that.

Link in my last post. I was slightly reluctant to put a link foir fear of being accused of having a vested interest (I dont, obviously). I'm not even recommending them as I've never used them. But it is a killer price.
Edit: putting MX4 Pro in google brings it up (it's actually showing in the highlighted, imaged, listings at the top of the page for me).

so £65 more than the o2 refresh price, still given it's overheating problems guess it shouldn't be a surprise it's got hot

Have you updated to Marshmallow? My Z3 was 2-3 days no problem before that (with Stamina mode) but on Marshmallow, which doesn't have Stamina yet, it's down to a day max.

Would stick to a company that's a bit more competent to be honest. But again, up to you if you want to take the risk.
