Do you know if this is the newer one, with extra buttons and an infrared output to control TVs etc., or the older one?

As far as I can see, it's the newer one. There's two green buttons at the top right.
Btw, controlling of other Amps and TVs, is only for Sony Amps and TVs.

Don't bother with the tiny (Just a few functions) remotes, they are an utter waste of time!
