Then if something goes wrong OKI will may refuse to honour the warranty on the basis of compatible toners. This is the excuse they used 15 years ago! I never purchased on OKI again. In those days EU rules were of not available.
Good old Brother repaired my printer after 5 years as I pointed out a very low page count and 6 year EU rules (and they listened).

Why not save the original toners and use compatible ones until it has a fault and put back the original. Surely they are wiggle out then?

I don't know if it's the case for this printer, but many modern ones have a firmware which checks the carts are genuine, and keeps track of if you've ever used a non-genuine cart. It's quite often what the chips on the carts are for.

Oh, didn't know that. Shame it is in the OKI T&C that they will not honor warranty if this is the case.
