The missus birthday is coming up and I have been looking for a cheap laptop with an SSD in. This fits the bill perfectly, and should suit her just fine for a few years.

Having been looking for this laptop in particular I can tell you the cheapest other retailer I could find was Tesco (£279). With free delivery, this is a bit of a steal.
Still a good little laptop with the SSD, Debenhams seem to be good retailer, they might delivery quicker for less.

is this laptop any good?

That depends on what you are planning to use it for, for me it would be awful (won't play games) but for the missus it is perfect (a bit of web browsing and emails / job applications / shopping).
Some shoppers might want a laptop which ditches the DVD drive to reduce the 2.2 kg mass, and perhaps have support for 802.11ac but otherwise a perfectly good pick.
I'd be wary that they might not have stock of these, going by the recent Laptops Direct deal I posted for a cheap Dell desktop that they're cancelling orders for.

Oh dear, it might be worth paying more to get it from somewhere else then. I would be in the dog house if it didn't arrive.
That actually is the lower spec and available at many places for about that price. If you are thinking about losing the SSD (which is probably the single largest upgrade on performance for once piece of hardware) then I would recommend this one:
