Of course it didn't help his decision. Your post was nothing more than a thinly-veiled "I'm smarter than you." You didn't actually share any information.

I bought the 43inch hisense that Argos were selling cheap for my parents as their TV had stopped working. Very impressed with the picture quality and nearly as good as my own Sony Bravia. Only problem I've found is I have to keep explaining how to use it as they are both in their eighties. Whenever I pop round they always have it on regular BBC/itv rather than HD, and I keep saying "channels 101-105 not 1-5". Do they listen? Do they 4k!
Back on topic, great telly for the price.

I wonder if seeing the Hisense logo everyday during the Euros will tell people this brand is actually not "unknown".

HiSense TV's are Chinese, made in China by a Chinese company...
Sound like you got a TV that was headed for German retail but hit the UK instead..

I sent my girlfriend to return the 55" Philips cow and come back with a 49" Panasonic like my brothers new one because it was just so much better, instead she came back with magic beans / the 55" version of this brand I'd never heard of. Point being I'm amazed with it, watching the last episode of Gotham on it was the same if not better than the Panasonic one saw as the benchmark. Brillaint TV at a bargain price, kinda like the Xiaomi phones.
Also Ps4 and Now tv look great on it (the Philips tv couldn't seem to stream very well), also tried my wii u on it, very nice colours

If you go into settings, set contrast near the maximum, brightness somewhere around the middle, colour saturation as high as it is possible without making the human skin tones too red, sharpness low and then switch off all the postprocessing that smoothens motion/enhances resolution (and makes everything look like a soap opera), then almost any tv will give you a good looking picture.

The Panasonic was probably a Vestel model so I'm not surprised.

i have the 40 " of this and its a very good make german brand name they are the official sponsors of the euro 2016 along with 20 others no doubt but i found it very good only downside was the smart functions as its a german make is all german even if you switch it to english which is easy it still has a german app store instead of google play
