This is an extremely economic and environmental way to travel in these cities, if you are taking more than one ride. And the summer offer makes it even a better deal. Am off to book my summer day trips :)

. Can I use PLUSBUS if I only want to travel by bus?
Sorry, no. PLUSBUS is an integrated ticket that has to be bought and used with a train ticket. So you must be travelling by both the train and bus in order to buy and use PLUSBUS.

Surely these can only be used if you have travelled by train first? Its not a standalone cheap all day bus ticket

Yes, PLUSBUS can be used only when you have a train ticket. Works best for city day trips, when you are not driving all the way there and is using train to reach to the city. Many like me do not drive at all and use trains, and then plusbus comes in quite handy.
