Lidl have their Eneloop type 2300mah in again. They should be at least as good. At £2.99 I think.

What does Eneloop "type" batteries mean?
Do they come from the same factory?
If so, £2.99 is a ridciulously good price.
I bought Fujitsu black 2450mah batteries (equivalent to Eneloop pro) from 7 day shop for around £8, I think. And that was the cheapest price on the internet. The Eneloop pros are ridiculously long lasting. My quadcopter radio controller which was eating up the pound shop batteries quickly, has not yet been able to use a full charge of the Fujitsu batteries.
And btw, the Energiser batts in this thread, though not as good as the Eneloop or Fujitsu, are not far behind. £4 is a great price.

In high discharge usage you can get as little as 7 seconds battery life out of the cheap disposables. Alkaline do not like a high discharge either, though they do far better.
My last test of my 2300 LSD(Eneloop type) Lidls gave a reading of 2160mah, which sounds normal. They claim 1000 charges which I am slightly sceptical of.

I think people mean LSD type batteries. These are LowSelfDischarge type batteries which mean they hold their charge when not being used (85% after 1 year 75% after 3 years) normal NiMH would be completely flat well before a year of none use!
