Was tempted too as size and 4k for this price would be great. sadly not for gaming makes it pointless for me.

give it 365 days and then you will have a decently priced 4k monitor and perhaps more viable gpu's to utilise it.

It's the apparently high failure rate that puts me off, especially as it's a warehouse deal with only 30 day warranty.
