Stick with Plusnet people. Zero slowdowns for me even though I download upwards of 3TB each month with a personal best of 5TB last month

Had SSE for about a year now, paying £24.50 for 76mb unlimited and just weekend calls.
This price is so low it's insane!
Call them using their number on contact us, I've found a landline number in case you're phoning from a mobile and don't have freephone numbers. 023 9227 5030
It took a little while waiting for my installation date but that was caused BT's end. The BT OpenReach engineer was nice, he told me that the TalkTalk engineer had bodged the telephone point when he came over which was basic telecom engineer training!
The router is pretty beefy, lots of Ethernet ports etc, looks 100x better than my TalkTalk one!

My line and fibre has transferred over to SSE overnight. Router installed and speed test is showing 36mbps down and 19mbps up. So far so good.

Stay clear of SSE if you value your sanity. The number of problems we've had and although their customer services team seem nice, they never get it right.

SSE get reasonable ratings. I joined a short while ago.

I've had this package 6 months now, and its OK, although highly throttled in the evenings, torrents are nigh on impossible to download without a VPN.
BT were a lot more expensive, but they were loads faster on the same 78mb fiber product.

My contract with Talktalk finishes next month and I have been looking at alternatives(no problems with Talktalk during the 2 and a half years I have been with them). This offer is not available in my location but is available at my moms house so it is a genuine offer but not available to everyone. I may try to phone them to see if it will be available for me soon. Voted hot.

There is catch or even more then one. I have them almost a year and can't wait when I finish.
Firsts if you lucky you might get connection on time if they l3t you know that you connected. I was waiting 2 months to get. Customers services always saying something different every time you call them and you have to call they don't even they have a problem with keeping on time with setting up.
Router need reset with modem in weekly basis or you will have a speed. And peak times are very bad. Have this line with Plusnet for 2 years always what it should be.

Difficult to navigate the website, very slow, times out and errors and this broadband option is almost hidden but - super hot deal, no cashback to worry about, seems straight forward. Could be a price glitch as the breakdown doesn't actually add up.
It's up to 76mb not 78 as the OP states and the true speed will be less, I assume they will give you a more accurate speed during signup process.
As with all broadband providers you just have to hope for the best with no complications when they set you up that require calling customer services.
