Also qualifies for the "Cash for Goals" Offer, so more discount is almost guaranteed (a tenner at least ).

HDTVtest review of the 55" model here.
Verdict: Highly Recommended (in June 2015)

These older 4K TV's are predictably going to get very cheap now the Ultra HD Premium spec has been agreed upon for HDR equipment. I'll be waiting patiently for Ultra HD Premium to become more affordable and then jump in.

I remember reading somewhere that Panasonic will be sending out a HDR update for these TV's.

Am kind of thinking the same, but by the time that standard hits the shelves, they'll be teasing us with the next big thing. :-/

Word of warning; the 50" is a different set that the 55", it's edge lit vs the 55" direct led, so be careful trusting reviews on this one.

Thanks for that. It wasn't clear in the review, just suggested.
There's another review by T3 gadget magazine here.
I have an old copy of T3 from January and they had the TX-50CX802B in the #1 slot for TVs (reviewed at £1,799) T3 Issue 246. See below:

age old argument about tech changing. this is a decent TV at a good price with or without 4k. by the time that spec is agreed there'll be new tech coming out.

Not at all. But the 4K stuff has been a mess of competing standards so I've stayed away, just as I stayed away when competing standards were fighting to see what would replace DVD. We now know that what replaces HD and Blu Ray is Ultra HD premium.

But there are still competing HDR formats, so you could still be in for a long wait. And then there's bound to be something else to worry about.
