onkyo is owned by pioneer. and is one of the best brands on the market. consistently winning what hifi awards yearly. definitely not an unknown brand.

Yes, it's not a name I recognise. I'd turn around and look to a major Japanese electronics/entertainment conglomerate instead. It's a healthy skepticism I've learnt from living in the East Midlands.

Onkyo isn't an unknown brand. It's awesome. I bought an amp in 2006 from superfi. Well worth the price then and this is awesome.

A very prestigeous and world famous brand making great AV equipment which is world famous picking up some of the best awards for the past 15 years+. Not famous if you exclusively buy at Argos or Currys.
