It's not the 'best' there's no such thing, there's the best for an individual's requirements, but they may vary from one to another.

It's a nice, no, very nice, tablet, performs well considering it's an Atom, but these days, Atom processors are realistically not the hampered chips of the first generation.

This tablet is a compromise between looks, weight, battery life and CPU power, concentrating on the first 3.

It's a great tablet, but don't expect to run MS SQL Server + Photoshop + Visual Studio and loads of Chrome tabs without noticing a slow down.

Windows works great in limited memory and with lower power CPUs, but if you're a power user, a less attractive more practical solution might be elsewhere.

I just received a text telling me my order has been "delayed"... 4GB/128GB with keyboard ordered at 11:00 on 31 May. Original delivery date was Sat 4 June. Checking my online account and see my order is still there: "Delivery by Sat 11 June".

I speak to an online chat bod and they tell me "sorry, cancelled!".

Not happy that people who ordered after me are having their items delivered... *glares at 1nternet*.

So I have been using mine and all is well. I got the newer pen (Surface pro 4 type) and can only really make it stick on the keyboard sticking point - so it doesn't really work when the keyboard is on the surface.

Should I have got the older style pen with the loop attachment? Any creative ideas to resolve this - as functionally the pen works well - so would rather not downgrade it...

I have an air 2 but really want a surface. Missed the surface 4 deal and was gutted.

iPad wins on apps, games and security but that's it, you don't need an app for youtube and facebook though not on tablets with this size screen so you would have been fine with the surface.

I'm using an iPad Air right now and regretting not jumping on this deal when I had the chance, it was certainly a bargain.

Yeah after a bit of thought I will hardly if ever use the extra features the surface can give users.

I mainly just want a device for youtube,facebook,web browsing and the odd game now and then.
For just those uses I think the iPad Air 2 is the better "tablet"

The surface is more than that obviously but I wouldn't use it and likely find it frustrating for my needs.

If your going to get the ipad air 2 from Very using the 20% code just be aware that code will probably expire on the 6th of June, you wont find either the 16GB or 64GB cheaper than Very with the 20% discount, at least not from a UK retailer.

I have the same problem, but they told me I can claim them if I find some customer who ordered after my order and got it. Also they told that it's out of stock and will not available any more, so they can just refund my money.

Mine says "Sorry, not available" against the item even though the order is still open. I called them to query what was happening and was told that it's out of stock and more are due in next week at which point it will be dispatched. We'll see what happens...

My iPad was sent via Royal Mail special deliver with a live tracking number but all that says is come back later, looks like it hasn't made it to the rm sorting centre, which is a shame as it should have come before 1pm. Hopefully not lost as they probably will twig th deal then if I need to call them

I just ordered a new 12" Macbook using the 20% off code so hopefully it will be accepted! As others have suggested I'd just keep quiet and hope they don't notice. I dont see how they could legally automatically charge you the extra. If they genuinely refuse to accept the discount code I'm sure they'll just cancel the order.

I was tempted by the Surface 3 offer myself but I found it a bit on the slow side for general use and I couldn't see myself ever using it in tablet form so personally I'd rather have a lightweight laptop. Can't really complain for £300 odd with the keyboard though!

As others have suggested if you do buy a Surface make sure you get the 4Gb/128Gb model. It's easily worth the extra monies.

Been looking an alternative to my work laptop, something which is more portable but could zip along with the productivity apps I use (Microsoft Office, Eclipse, NodeJS and some frameworks). If you're a serious student, creative or business user then I'd highly recommend the i5 Pro 4 with 20% off (the keyboard is a major factor - over 93% of owners end up buying one). It's a great machine and unlike the iPad Pro it's geared as a laptop replacement ultra-mobile.

What the Pro 4 (or Book) won't do is give you serious gaming performance. The trade off for the design is very much that you won't be getting dedicated graphics card levels of performance. However, for light gaming or entertainment it's pretty damn good.

As for comparing the Galaxy S2 (that I have) with the Surface 3 - it really depends what you want. The S2 runs Android so it's just a great high-end entertainment and browsing device (although the speakers are a bit naff) while the Surface 3 runs full Windows 10 which gives great flexibility for use, but at the cost of Android user-friendliness.

Got the 128gb Surface Pro 3 (i5) for £400 in post christmas sales.

I've got 2 x Windows10 devices running with 2gb ram. Anything more than a basic task will bog this down which is a shame because it has a pretty capable Atom Z8700. Definitely get the 4GB version.

Also interested to hear how this compares to the S2. My iPad 3 is running so slow ATM so I'm in the market for a replacement.
