Saw this in Vodafone Camden and thought that it may be a good deal for a brand new phone.

Well its quite simple without wanting to sound sarcastic. If you have a phone with a removable battery such as a G4 and you find you are using a lot of battery life because of your personal usage then just buy a spare battery. Genuine kits are cheap for the G4. Comparison to S6 and S7 was a dig at their brand because you can't do that with them. I can leave my G4 on all day for 3 days minimum without having to charge it. I have a spare battery for mine just in case. I last charged the spare up 4 weeks ago and needed it on Sunday. It had dropped 3% in a month. I leave everything on apart from facebook, location, bluetooth and weather is set NOT to automatically update. If you facebook and location running on your phone it will seriously drain, especially facebook.
It always makes me laugh when people say they can't get a day out of their phone without charging it. I suppose I am lucky that I only use my phone on an evening because the rest of the day I am working and my boss pays me to work for him and not sit playing games on my phone or updating facebook. Not saying you do this of course and I guess people who have more free time will be using their battery more but for me even if I didn't work I think I would be finding more useful things to do than play with my phone all day.
This is not meant to be a sarcastic or dig at anyone. Posts can sometimes come across as a bit direct but battery usage is all down to that, usage. The more you have going on the quicker it will drain. For 8 hours a day I am sleeping. For 8 hours a day I am working. That's 16 hours a day that my phone is sat on standby unless I receive a text or call whilst at work. For a couple hours in the evening I will certainly be eating and catching up on other things needing to be done in the house. That leaves maybe 6 hours max that I could use my phone. I prefer to use my laptop or tab for emails and surfing as what is the point in looking at a 5.5" screen when I can view via a 10" or 17" screen. Its just easier. All in all my personal usage of my phone will be a bout 2 hours a day so that's probably a good reason why my battery life is so good.
I don't need a smartphone but what I do need is a device that will take decent pictures for work which I can easily upload to my PC for work use. That's why I bought the G4 not for it's smart abilities, but for it's camera. Second to none in my opinion.

I know there has been some hardware issues with many G4's. If you get a good one, I think this is a Hot Deal. I'm still rocking the G2 and its excellent for the money I paid.

My friend bought the LG G2 when Vodafone did their deal on it a while back. They never did take the money for it.

It's been this price since before Christmas.

They took my £150 for the G2 a few years ago. It's been worth every single penny and still performs like it did on day 1 and I still get about 50 hours of battery with 2 hours of screen on time. :sunglasses:
The G4 was available last year for the same price. It was a hot deal then and its still a hot deal now.

I bought my Mother one of those on the black friday deal - I called into the Voda store late in the afternoon, assuming that they'd have long since sold out. I asked the guy who was working there what time they sold the last one and was given a dilemma when he said there was one left! Being a sucker for a bargain I figured it would be a great upgrade for my Mother and, for well over a year, my 65 year old Mother had a better phone than me! I liked the G2 so much that I was going to get the G3 till I saw how bad it's battery life was, and then the same for this - unless the 6.0 update has sorted that? (I get between 4 and 6 hours s.o.t. on my Note 3)

I doubt the G4 can compete with the G2 or Note 3 with respect to battery life. On the other hand, if you are a light user like me, the G4 should be able to make use of the doze feature in Android 6. If you're a power user, maybe look elsewhere.

Yeah, I could've picked up a used G4 for £160 earlier in the week but the battery life was the killer - it's such a shame as the phone ticks the rest of the boxes!
I'm toying with putting a custom ROM on the Note 3 to get hold of MM for doze etc, but it depends on the associated issues at the mo. If it works then I'll stick with the Note 3 for a few years, maybe waiting for the Note 6 to come down in price (if they do as expected and go back to the sd slot and removable battery) as the Note 5 is a no-go for me with the lack of a removable battery. But in the meantime, if one of the big Chinese companies brings something out that works for me, I'm all for giving that a try!

Don't forget you can put a spare battery in a G4 unlike an S6 or S7. Battery life is pretty good on these to be honest. The more you use it and the more apps you have running the quicker the battery drains. Quite a simple science really. Ditch Facebook and you will be surprised how much longer your battery will last.
Anyone buying one of these make sure the first three numbers of the serial number is 510 or higher. If it a 509 508 507 506 or 505 then chances are the motherboard will fail on you.
