No one is buying Doom for multiplayer. It's all about shoving a double barrel shotgun in a demon's face. ;D

Thanks for sharing, I was wondering if you'd be picking it up or not..

I'm not touching this with a bargepole because (insert uninteresting, elitist opinion that nobody asked for here). If you had half a brain, plebian scum, you'd buy (other game that's likely very good, but doesn't have MURDEROUSLY SHOTGUNNING THE HELL OUT OF DEMONS WHILST CIRCLE STRAFING in it) instead.
It's an old school shooter. You never have to reload. I'm in.

Great quote from YouTube comment:
In a ordinary First Person Shooter you'd wait for an NPC to use a keycard or a terminal to hack a locked door. Then you'd proceed through a corridor, killing as many Muslims and/or Russians possible with your boring standard M16 and Beretta M9. Doing this will successfully end terrorism forever.
In Doom you grab a bloody corpse and slam their f**king faces into an eye scanner, ready your old double barrel shotgun, spin up your chainsaw and reload your light machine gun the size of a Honda Civic. Sure, you'd walk around corridors, but they are filled with satanic alien demons, all ready to mutilate you in 26 different ways.
... Why you ask? We don't really know, we don't really care. Neither should you, I mean did you even listen to me? Here's a shotgun, go kill some demons, we promise you'll have really fun!

Wasn't at all a fan of the beta. It's by no means bad, just a distinctly average take on the current flavour of the month-type "FPG with RPG elements". Fun for a couple of hours but not much after that.
My advice would be to put an extra tenner in and pre-order Overwatch. A very modern take on a TF2 objective-style FPS. Butter smooth engine, great artistic style and very finely balanced mechanics. I reckon any FPS fan would get more than their monies worth from that.

some people don't want MP, they are only interested in SP for Doom. overwatch is a MP only game & absolutely nowt to do with Doom.
I am not touching this. Will pick it up bargain basement in 3 months.

Mate this is from CD Keys, it's a post launch price.
For example Dark Souls 3 was £23 at one point on CD keys. It's now £33.99. Same thing with X-Com 2.
3 months after launch you might get it for £20. For the sake of £3 i'd rather experience the launch especially considering a component of the game is multiplayer.

interesting.... A current discussion going on at neogaf as all review co[ies have been withheld until release day....
General consensus seems to be leaning towards the SP being poor

Bethesda always do that now. They did the same thing with fallout 4. By the time the reviews surfaced, a lot of people (including me) had already played it.

They re-made it once - they're remaking it again. Wait a couple more years or so and they'll remake it again. I'm guessing it's basically a nice tech-demo like Doom 3.
