As good as new. No scratches, scuffs or chips. And they come with a 12 month warranty.
Perfect for anyone after a cheap "new" iPhone, not exactly the latest model but I am sure it will suit some people.
Cheaper than CEX sell their "used" models for!

Stupid comment really.
It doesn't really matter if it's only £10. 8GB and outdated tech means it's pretty much unusable.

If anyone has bought this item online and can comment on the lock status of the device I would be grateful. For £70 and unlocked/locks to first sim I'd be prepared to spend the money. I am looking for a cheap, compact smartphone.
On eBay there seems to be numerous sellers who are able to unlock the 4s for circa £12 but the device's price point attractiveness diminishes if you have to spend extra to unlock.

I went into the O2 store at the weekend. Assistant says can only be bought with top up and is locked to 02, also cost a few quid to get it unlocked. I tried again but it won't let me check out without adding top up. Still a good deal though, regret massively getting rid of mine last year. I Phones still rock!

Eurrgghh.... an 8Gb old iPhone. It's like the equivalent of buying a theoretical 800cc M Reg Mercedes with 1 car seat, 3 wheels and no boot. Still works, but you really should have just bought a cheap Fiesta instead of wasting your money purely for that badge.

I have a Galaxy Note 5..probably the best android phone out there..ok..now I also use an iPad and I used to have an iPhone 6 before the Note 5..I also have various android devices like TV box etc..what you saying about iOS being limited is utter bull crap.
android is messy..it lacks polish and wastes a lot of hardware resources..it is powerful and gives nice options like file management but all at the cost of being annoying, full of bugs, wasting so much time due to being not user-friendly and it's not safe at all.iOS does everything, yes EVERYTHING much better.it doesn't let you install malware infested pirated apps yes..and it doesn't let you do file management like android but thats about it.
both systems have positives and negatives but in the end iOS wins for being much more reliable, slick, efficient, safe.
as I said I own and work with both systems and with high end devices of each.so I know what I'm talking about unlike some.
It's not that. Complicated isn't a word I'd use to describe Android. Messy, yes, complicated, no.

15 May 163#39
This is £69. For £69 you could barely buy a better phone for 'spare phone' use, and if it's just as a second phone then I don't see how the storage is a problem. Let's say you go biking at the weekends and don't want to carry your 6S Plus with you, but want access to your iMessage and Facetime...for some people this would be a great purchase, and saying 'for only £40 more you can get this and that' is pretty meaningless when you're looking at these sort of prices, since £40 more is over 50% more expensive.

All depends if the phone is unlocked or locks to the first sim that you insert. If it is automatically locked to O2 then it is a headache for most people.
If it is unlocked or locks to your network and you are able to use it for 12 months without issue then I can see its value. O2 usually despatch the phones promptly (unlike most people's experience of Vodafone for the Z3 or G3 etc) and should honour any issues in the 12 months.
If it is locked to O2, for PAYG at least the O2 network using carriers have all increased their prices - Giffgaff, Lycamobile, Tesco - the only good tariff is on toggle @3p per min - 9p per text - has anyone actually used them?

Yeah but everyone reports it was excellent condition and sooner have 5S, 16GB, etc for that bit extra. Could never see the attraction of iPhones before they started enlarging the screen, but obviously this is very subjective and individual. Even now, I'm not a compete convert (but then I have never used iTunes etc. - I can understand those that are completely within the hardware and software ecosystem).

This a decent price for a basic phone. It will get you into or keep you in the Apple eco system if that's what you want. Only an idiot will think someone buying it is expecting it to compete with an iPhone 6. Not everyone uses smart phones as PCs or for games. Phone calls, messages, whatsapp email etc. It will handle all that perfectly. Personally at this price point I would prefer an Android based phone over this, but for someone wanting an iPhone its a decent price.
It's also pretty easy and cheap to change the battery.

does anyone know if o2 iPhones can be unlocked cheaply?
on ebay there are ads for around £12-£15 but thats too much.
I'm looking for a spare/temporary phone while I sell my main phone and waiting to buy the next one.
Thats a 5 year old phone and it still receives updates, you'd be hard pressed to find one of the same age running Android/Blackberry OS/Symbian/Web OS/Windows that still receives updates/is running the latest OS version from the OEM/OS provider.

I love this phone, I know it is slow but you can disable some of the flashy stuff in iOS to speed things up. SIRI however is absolutely brilliant on this, the 8 gb thing you will struggle with however, spotify, google music, etc. Photos can be stored online and streamed directly to the phone. Using a moto x previously taught me how to get around memory constraints.
I just wished we could overclock this phone and drop a bit more ram in!

Me: The iPhone 4S graded phones, are they locked to o2?
O2: When you buy the phone from any service provider, it's pre locked to that network.
And you need to unlock it first to use any other networks SIM in it.
Me: And can you do that free of charge?
O2: Unlocking is free if the phone has bought under the contract on O2 Pay Monthly. http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/unlocking-your-iphone-and-using-it-on-another-network

8gb sucks on these phones - you don't actually get that, you get 5gb. I have little in the way of apps, no games, and have to delete apps if i want to download a new one. This is my work phone so stuck with it. I replaced my 8gb android because of similar issues, it's not big enough memory for modern phones.

Big question is which iOS version will it be running? iOS 9.3 will kill it, performance-wise, OK with iOS 7 though.
Upd: States iOS 5 in Technical Specs.
It does have a very nice camera still, which isn't that much better on today's iPhones. 8GB is the equivalent on an enlarged Prostrate though, you'll be constantly offloading any Pics, (yes I said Pics  ).
