Excellent set of speakers at a great price from a great UK manufacturer. I will be picking mine up as soon as possible.

Please NOTE: These are PASSIVE speakers, so will need an amplifier to run + speaker wire
Example of an inexpensive (£20) amplifier that'll do the job reasonably well: LEPY LP 2024A+ Plus Amplifier http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEPY-LP-2024A-Plus-Amplifier/dp/B00LHB3KYE
Basic/inexpensive speaker cable/wire will do the job, but definitely consider going for better stuff, as it could make a noticeable difference:

I have a pair of these, nice compact sized, bright sounding speakers with Wharfedale quality . But you'll need to add a sub if you like your bass...... not bothered with a sub personally, as i dont want to annoy my neighbours.
You wont get better than these for the ridiculously cheap price of £40.

Another option is to get the very capable £20 TIBO EDGE MINI pair instead.
Then you can get the £20 Lepy amp & save yourself £10 in the bargain!

Love the way the concept of passive speakers seems quite alien to modern yoof. What, I need an AMPLIFIER?

Thinking of connecting this to the 55k television I just purchased (Philips 55" 4k deal), will it connect to this?

You'll need an amp to run em with a tv.

And you will need the correct Amp regarding ohms/wattage input/output/din or you'll star a fire, blow these speakers or wreck your amp

I have these speakers hooked up to a TEAC mini hi-fi and have have my tv plugged into it..... gives a sound far better than any soundbar you can get, plus CD player and FM/DAB radio thrown in. Its a dirt cheap all in one (seriously fussy audiophiles need not apply).
Would work equally as well with the Denon DM40, that Richer Sounds were doing for for around £180.
