Excellent set of speakers at a great price from a great UK manufacturer. I will be picking mine up as soon as possible.
----------------------
Please NOTE: These are PASSIVE speakers, so will need an amplifier to run + speaker wire
Example of an inexpensive (£20) amplifier that'll do the job reasonably well: LEPY LP 2024A+ Plus Amplifier http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEPY-LP-2024A-Plus-Amplifier/dp/B00LHB3KYE
Basic/inexpensive speaker cable/wire will do the job, but definitely consider going for better stuff, as it could make a noticeable difference:

I have a pair of these, nice compact sized, bright sounding speakers with Wharfedale quality . But you'll need to add a sub if you like your bass...... not bothered with a sub personally, as i dont want to annoy my neighbours.
You wont get better than these for the ridiculously cheap price of £40.

Another option is to get the very capable £20 TIBO EDGE MINI pair instead.
Then you can get the £20 Lepy amp & save yourself £10 in the bargain!

You'll need an amp to run em with a tv.
InTheKnow444

And you will need the correct Amp regarding ohms/wattage input/output/din or you'll star a fire, blow these speakers or wreck your amp

I have these speakers hooked up to a TEAC mini hi-fi and have have my tv plugged into it..... gives a sound far better than any soundbar you can get, plus CD player and FM/DAB radio thrown in. Its a dirt cheap all in one (seriously fussy audiophiles need not apply).
Would work equally as well with the Denon DM40, that Richer Sounds were doing for for around £180.

what amp do you guys recommend for these? I have my Onkyo 876 but will be selling soon as that's a beast and I moved in a smaller place now so getting rid of my 4ohm epos speakers & receiver.

This offer has been on since God was a boy. Sadly most of us don't live near a Richer sounds so look on enviously at those that can benefit from the instore offers they have.

Got some of these little babies a few months ago.... as mentioned this is the regular selling price but it is an excellent price for a very good set of speakers, easily worth double this price so might make travelling worthwhile.

you recommend any suitable amps which will work with these and the CC?
are these speakers connected together by some sort of wire?
I have these (bought at £50 a while ago, which I think is the regular VIP price). I have them in my kitchen, connected to a Chromecast Audio via a Lepy 2024 and it sounds great for its purpose. I am planning on buying another set to go in exactly the same setup (CCA and another Lepy amp) in the study.

Im using for surround speaker it is OK nothing special nothing wrong They OK for my needs and sound.
With good amp they sound not bad : ) Just adjust them for mid range and highs frequency do not think they will be bass speaker
What I do not like how they made - Cheap laminated wood and looks to boxy
I know I pay similar price £40-50 couple years ago for this price cannot find better : )
But if you pay £100 + you have much bigger selection how the speaker looks and performs
rdann
4 Apr 16#25
If you want to put them on the wall, you will need the dedicated wall brackets, which will cost you another £20+
Alternatively I'd suggest spending a little more and trying to land a Rotel amp off Ebay.

Nice deal, I was choosing between the Wharfdale Diamonds and Tannoy V series a few years ago and went with the Tannoys in the end. If I wanted a "second location" from my amp, I'd get these, but I am unsure where I'd put them right now...

Voted hot....used to have some old Wharfedale diamonds sounded good. Re the advice on the amplifier, those TA2024 amplifiers are now a bit old tech compared to what else is out there. Google TPA 3116 D2 amps. Various versions of ready made boards can be purchased on ebay for around a tenner. I bought the 100w + 100w version for £7 delivered in a week. Sounds absolutely awesome on my B&W 601 s3 speakers and much more powerful than the the lepy. I built a case for it on a laser cutter... pic on my drop box
There is a whole 900 odd page thread about these amps on DIY audio, I thought about posting a deal for these but felt it's a little niche for this forum.
A little ridiculous to call TA2024 old tech, there is more to an amp than a chip! Though if you're buying an amp for £7 I guess you only care about the wattage, which is largely meaningless...

These WHARFEDALE DIAMOND 9.0 @ £39.95 are the 'traditional' type of passive speaker that's been around for decades - you need an amp to power them, along with an input (CD player) and speaker cables.
http://www.richersounds.com/product/standmount-speakers/wharfedale/diamond-9.0/whar-9.0-blk
These are an active type which plug into the mains - WHARFEDALE DS1 @ £129
http://www.richersounds.com/product/standmount-speakers/wharfedale/ds1/whar-ds-1-blk
So you can connect your phone/laptop wirelessly via bluetooth or NFC or 3.5mm headphone-style cable.
