I'm looking for a budget 8" Windows tablet (Under £60) and need to decide between taking the risk on Gearbest or buying a used unit from the dreaded ebay. I've looked at the Chuwi units that seem pretty similar but at the mo they're a tenner more price than the Telcast (this price is showing as only for the next 6 days).
I'm sure this will get the inevitable "don't buy from gearbest", "8inch is too small" and similar comments but if there are a few useful comments to help me decide then it was worth posting! For the record, I've never bought from Gearbest, I prefer to use Banggood where I can, but for this price I'd take the risk, but I wouldn't spend much more.
If anyone out there has a budget 8inch Windows tablet then please let me know what you think if it's real world performance.

Section 75: "Any officer found to have been slaughtered and replaced by a shape-changing chameleonic life form shall forfeit all pension rights". Is that entirely relevant here?

All these cheap tablets and phones from China are great (don't get me wrong), but every time there has always been some niggly problem that stops them being totally awesome and then eventually becomes a massive drag to the point where I'd rather have a proper branded and supported unit. For example: excessive battery drain in standby, awful WiFi signal/range, bad/below average touch sensitivity, sporadic SD slot reader and so on (all things I've experienced on a different device). Am I alone on this?

Could you tell me what the battery life is like? One of the things I would be using this for its watching movies, so what kind of times do you get for general use and how long for watching movies etc? How long does it take to charge?
And to the rest of you, thanks for your input. It sounds pretty good. I've just picked up a Lenovo miix 2 32gb for £36 so I'll give it a run out and if I'm not impressed then I'll order one of these - hope they don't sell out!

I bought this from here last time it was around this price (Through hukd) It is a nice tablet, but the volume is dismal. Way too quiet on full volume, useless for any music or video sadly :disappointed:

I've got the teclast x98 III from gear best, came within two weeks not had an issue with it and its a good spec however you will have to deal with return to China if there's an issue

I'd only buy from China if it's £100+, so Section 75 applies. I guess rolling the dice with £58 isn't too bad. I am pretty tempted because I currently have a Linx 8 and it's great to have full Windows at home but out and about you need a proper touch OS.

What about the Onda, Chuwi or similar brands 8" units? Or even the 2gb ones by Dell, Lenovo etc? It's a long shot, but has anyone had something that they'd been able to compare this with or just their thoughts on the other tablets
