Just happened to stumble upon this and thought it looked pretty good value for a 4TB external desktop hard drive. I bought one myself a while ago and paid a fair bit more, if memory serves.

This really depends on whether the usb port can supply enough energy, some are fine for flash drives, some are fine for portable drives too. A decent quality cable helps too (ie one that came with your phone or other decent brand portable drive)

Yep. If your telly doesnt give it enough oomph you will need a usb y cable and a wall charger to suplement the power!

If you have a device that can play hd movies from a USB hard drive then yes. The hard drive doesn't play video itself (no HDMI, composite video out etc).
