Great value road bike. Not the lightest but decent entry level equipment and finishing kit plus it's made by a decent manufacturer.
Ideal for anyone thinking of starting out.

I'll never be in to geek side of cycling, it's not my thing. I do fancy a ride on a bike though, so I'm fairly certain this would do all I need and I wouldn't even for myself think of any future upgrades, if it needs future upgrades then I know I have become too geek at cycling and I don't want that because I don't have/want time for it. Nothing wrong with that. Each to their own. For me I just want to get on a reasonable bike that will last on the occasion I use it and know it will work whenever I get on it.

That is enough bike for you to decide if you want to park it in the shed and forget about it, or gumtree it and spend a bunch more.
Before anyone mentions the lack of pedals, road bikes are typically ridden with cycling shoes which come with a variety of clips. As a result, pedals are very much up to the rider's tastes. If you have no preferences, they can be found for <£5 on ebay/amazon
Edit:ordered for my trainer, and to hang some spare components off. Too good to walk away from - will report back if it appears quickly.

There was 3 of these deals at one point (I posted it 5 mins after too) - so probably someone who thought it was a duplicate.
Great looking bike, perfect introduction and even a great base for upgrades when things wear out.

Looks good for the price. There's a £20 delivery charge if you can't collect it.

I would go for the Ribble due to the better components - it has a Shimano Claris groupset compared to Microshift on the Triban.

The b'twin is a great bike - you won't be disappointed. Guaranteed for life and they'll go out of their way to make sure it fits - can highly recommend decathlon Harlow
