Came at the wrong time for me as I've just bought a Sealey TP69P, but had this been around at this price two days ago I'd have jumped at the chance.
I'm not going to get involved in the debate about sump plug versus top drain, as it's all been said before; however for those looking for an oil sucker, you could do worse than choose this.
The Pela 6000 Oil Changer packs in all the punch and power of the bigger models into a smaller and much more affordable model. All you need to do pump between 10 and 20 times to create a powerful vacuum. The oil is captured nicely in the sturdy, see-through container with a capacity of 6.0 litres.

Life is made much easier with the PELA 6000 Oil Changer as it lets you know how much oil you’ve removed and includes a useful pour spout to assist with emptying. You can remove the pump for storage purposes too.
I'll look out for the oil change pit stops at Sochi, I must admit it must be so fast that I hadn't noticed them up to now.

People keep saying this but I've used a pela for over 10 years and whenever I do an oil change using the drain hole it doesnt make any difference.
I put a can of oil flush in and then drain with the pela.
Maybe if you use really cheap **** oil then you might get sludge, but I only ever use good quality fully synthetics. And if you have debris in your oil then how you do the oil change is the least of your problems.

Draining the oil is much better as you're more likely to get rid of any debris/sludge,the pumps will almost certainly leave it in the sump leading to increased wear.

Forgive my ignorance here, but is this really necessary? Is it to avoid having to lift car to drain thru sump?

Not neccessary, but well worth having.
My cars have lots of undertay stuff that is a pain to get off - one car has around 20 bolts that need removing. My Pela makes an oil change a 10 min job and no risk of getting oil all over the drive or myself.
Remember that it isn't only for engine oil. Gearbox and diff oil changes are also easy (for those of us who don't believe the 'sealed for life' rubbish)

Is this any better than the similar cheaper ones on ebay?

I bought a Silverline equivalent from Amazon for about £18. It does a pretty good job, but I would have bought the Pela had it been this cheap.

Great idea and saves a lot of bother.

Smart car owners only have the option to "pump" as there's no sump plug.
As to my car, the sump plug is raised slightly from the base of the sump so even draining won't remove everything. Having said that I still drain 1 in 3 oil changes and pump the other 2.

What I don't understand with these is how do you change the oil filter from the top if the car has a metal spin on filter?
