I've just been looking on the bay for a replacement unit. Although this obviously isn't the real deal, It's £2.99 and SHOULD do the job (right?).
If it switches from Sky Sports to QVC as intended then I'm happy, if it doesn't, chances are you'll see it in FS/FT in about a week so keep an eye out.

Hi OP. Silly point really but when my Sky remote broke, some years after receiving my Sky+HD box, I phoned them and asked them to send me a new one, and they did by 24hr courier for free.
I think I said something along the lines of, well if you don't send me one, I can't use your service, so I will be off then... I am pretty certain that they will send you one for free assuming you've had the box for a few years.
I know with internet routers they told me that after 5 years they will send a new one if the existing one seems to have broken.
Ultimately their service can't be used without a remote so they would be daft not to send you one!
Much better to get the real thing for free than a cheapo one that you have to pay for!!

Bought these before, and not bad for the price. Only problem is the letters and numbers rub off quickly.

To quote myself:
I find that the original genuine Sky remote shells and logic boards don't wear, it's just the membrane and keys that deteriorate. All I do is disassemble the genuine remote and replace the membrane with the one from the cheap clone. If you do it quickly you don't even have to reprogramme your TV code and you still have a fully working genuine logic board. Hot from me.

Then the title shouldn't say it's a sky remote.....

It's a remote that controls Sky...
