I've just been looking on the bay for a replacement unit. Although this obviously isn't the real deal, It's £2.99 and SHOULD do the job (right?).
If it switches from Sky Sports to QVC as intended then I'm happy, if it doesn't, chances are you'll see it in FS/FT in about a week so keep an eye out.

Hi OP. Silly point really but when my Sky remote broke, some years after receiving my Sky+HD box, I phoned them and asked them to send me a new one, and they did by 24hr courier for free.
I think I said something along the lines of, well if you don't send me one, I can't use your service, so I will be off then... I am pretty certain that they will send you one for free assuming you've had the box for a few years.
I know with internet routers they told me that after 5 years they will send a new one if the existing one seems to have broken.
Ultimately their service can't be used without a remote so they would be daft not to send you one!
Much better to get the real thing for free than a cheapo one that you have to pay for!!

To answer a couple of doubters
(1) Yes they will give you one for free which is a genuine £10-20 official one not these cheap knock-offs
(2) If you have Sky Talk the call is free and if you don't have Sky Talk there are ways of calling for free - surely all HotUKDealers know this?
(3) I rarely find there is a queue when calling Sky, maybe I'm lucky?
I see no reason why, if you need one of these, you would not call Sky and ask for one for free first! I reiterate my original point that without a remote the service cannot be used.

Most I paid for one is £1.99 (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sky-plus-hd-compatible-remote-rev-8-an-official-sky-product-ebay-1-99-delivered-2216960). They are ok, do the job.
