Please avoid the 8Gb storage devices. You'll fill that in no time at all, and be struggling to move apps to SD storage forever more! Drives me up the wall

It's not 5th generation either, but please... enlighten everyone as to where we may currently purchase a 4th gen, how much it costs and while you're at it please could you provide the specs. Thank you.

I've used this analogy before to try to explain RAM & memory (ROM):
Think of RAM as the size of your work desk, the paperwork you're working on as the apps/media, & the ROM as a filing cabinet where you fetch/store paperwork (apps, documents, photos & videos) to/from. 2Gb RAM is double the "work desk" of a 1GB RAM phone, & 16Gb ROM is double the "filing" capacity of an 8Gb phone. Bigger RAM/ROM means you can have more apps open at any one time & store more apps/media. Does that help?

Is there a big difference in performance between the 2? Argos have the other for £119?

The 'lesser' model at Argos is absolutely fine for people who don't spend their whole day (whole life?) with their faces buried in their phones, ie normal people over the age of 30!

Guess storage can be increased...does the ram affect performance much?

With version 6 android (which the gen 2 has now) you can merge the internal memory with SD card so it appears as one, so no more need to move apps to sd !!

The 8gb storage is not so much a problem as the 1gb of ram which will make it run like a dog ( and not a greyhound )

I ħave a first gen 1gb and a 3rd gen 2gb both running Android 6 and the difference in speed is tiny.
