To buy without a mandatory top-up:
There is a 'Keep Existing SIM' option at the bottom of the 'Bundles' page, which allows you to purchase a PAYG phone without a top-up. Unfortunately Vodafone now hides this button a few seconds after the page has loaded. You have to be quick to click the button, if you miss it simply hit F5 or the 'Refresh' button on your browser to reload the 'Bundles' page and try again.

Writing this on a g3 don't recommend it that highly. Quite a lot of lag and prone to overheating and short battery life. Others have had a good experience, but mine hasn't been!

Can vouch for this phone - best one I've ever had.
Have owned it over a year now (albeit the 3GB RAM, 32GB version) and it is very fast, never had a single problem and it looks/feels amazing in the hand - I've had plenty of compliments on the design of the phone (white version).
The tiny bezels (still one of the smallest bezels on the market) really make the stunning quad HD display stand out. SD card slot and removable battery is very handy - even with the 32GB version I added another 32GB memory card for all my music, and I've replaced the battery with a fresh one a few months ago (costs around a tenner for a genuine LG one if I recall) and its very handy to be able to switch out the battery on the fly.
A few small yet highly effective features which I'll miss if I move phones, are the tap to wake function and power/volume on the back.
Tap to wake is so useful, just two quick taps on the screen wakes it up onto the lock screen, which you really take for granted when you use it so often to just quickly and effortlessly check your phone without picking it up (e.g. on a table). Double tap to turn the screen off too. I always end up double tapping my Blackberry work phone, which annoyingly doesn't work - you really appreciate it when you use a phone without the feature.
Volume/power on the back takes getting used to, but it becomes very natural. When you hold your phone your finger is usually at the back, so it's a natural place to put the power button - you don't have to adjust your fingers or holding position to turn the phone on and off. Same for volume.
Performance is fantastic as you'd expect, pretty much every game plays well aside from a few very demanding games released this year. Admittedly the phone was finally beginning to lag a bit in some apps, but after updating to Android 6.0 last week it's blisteringly fast again, like new! Phone is pretty light too.
Although as a note, I have the 3GB RAM version from Germany which will be able to handle multi-tasking better. The UK only got the 2GB version, but I don't think performance will be too noticeable.
To address some concerns:
Overheating - I've never had issues, even on a hot day. On a hot day, putting the screen brightness to 80%ish would produce a warning about overheating and restrict you from increasing it further - but I've never had the need to increase brightness that high anyway.
Battery - It did deteriorate to below a day under normal use earlier this year, but again I replaced it with a new battery and it easily lasted a day. After updating to Android 6.0, I've noticed an even stronger performance in battery life - lasts more than a day and a half of normal use now. Pretty good for a year-old phone with a quad HD display, but again you can always buy a spare battery or portable charger for those heavy users.
All in all - HIGHLY impressed with LG on this phone, which reviews will show you. Would recommend it to anyone and at £150 its an absolute steal - wipes the floor with anything you can get on the market today below £300 (bar the G4)

I have the G3, and believe me, if my SGS2 had 4G capability I'd go back to it in a heartbeat.
Various problems with the audio jack, freezes constantly, and likes to turn off mid call. Although I think I'm in the minority, as people seem to love this phone.
Pros: I really like the camera.

Sell the S6 and get the S7 ... the goodness of Vulkan will soon pleasure you if you like playing games.

tempting but going to buy another moto x play instead - battery life is great. Yes, little bit chunkier, but that's why the battery is better!

have you owned both? I'm interested as I'm considering both, the X Play really appeals, the only downside of the xplay I see is the inferior processor when compared to other phones I'm considering. I'm just wondering how good the processor needs to be if I'm not playing games, surely the Moto x is capable enough?

G3 is a nice phone but I much prefer Samsung. Currently have a Note 4 and will be getting either an S6 Edge Plus or the S7 Edge/Plus.
