not the fastest, but seems like a good deal for those on a budget

Why would those on a budget want 32GB RAM?

That depends on the budget.

Assumes you know what people are going to use their systems for, and what their budget is, if they have one.

I think what he means is that it is cheap for 32GB, largely because it is not at the upper end of DDR4 capability.
Is hot for me regardless.

Because they want to build or upgrade a quick computer?

I could easily use 32GB RAM, it depends on the workload.

32GB RAM helps if you are an unskilled coder and have lots of memory leaks.

I remember installing 32Mb and wondering if that was overkill...showing my age i guess.

Alright, alright, but APART from virtualization, 3D editing, RAMdisk, graphic design and video editing, why would anyone on a budget need 32GB RAM?

You got an answer and you still want an answer. You won't get the answer you're looking for which I suspect is in the region of "32GB is a waste for some one on a budget", well that's nonsense.

After my dilemma with the DDR3 deal yesterday, I thought what the heck and went for these. Truth is, I figured if I don't know what would make other RAM better a choice, then I probably won't notice the difference either way.

This is DDR4. If your motherboard supports DDR3 you can't use these.

I spent a week reviewing various RAM-CAS timings for an Opteron 146 build once. I got to the point where +/- 10ns was bothering me. Never, ever again.

I'll not be grabbing this as I don't need it but that's a great price! As for why you'd need 32Gb? There's various reasons but really for this... why not? You never know when it may be beneficial for you to have more. You could just use 16Gb and keep the other 2 spare or sell them on as well!

I don't have a motherboard at all. This is (oddly) the first step of my new build. I'm literally building deal by deal.
