That's an interesting point. Some people buy iPhones to help elevate their appearance in public (conspicuous consumption). If you speak to these people most of them have the cheapest base spec model with next to no storage space and consequently don't use it much. I wonder what it says that someone shells out for the latest flagship Android phone not caring about residual values. That they have even more money than the iPhone user who keeps the same phone for years because 'it just works' (even with a smashed up screen that they appear to be too impoverished to replace)? Does that make flagship Android owners more appealing to the discerning observer?

Reviews not out for this yet but if all is as they say then both great devices. Comes down to personal preference.
For me the metal design of the 10 is too beautiful to pass up

The hands-on reviews have been favourable, the S7 Edge has a slightly larger screen. I prefer more screen real estate so i'm likely to stick with going for the Edge if i can find a decent deal, though it's surprised me what HTC have done. Nothing game changing but a very favourable phone.

If you can wait a bit, I would say wait a month after release and check personal reviews as well as critical reviews. It should highlight any issues which people have.

A lot of the reviews seem puzzling, Ars Technica just completely ignored the rather low battery life and dire storage speeds in their tests, while Anandtech talked about them, but then didn't. I think a lot of news sites want HTC to keep going, so are ignoring the problems with the device.
This graph shows that if you plan to encrypt your device, look elsewhere.
And these graphs show the HTC10 having lower battery life than the LG G5 and everybody was criticising the battery life of the G5.
Everything else about the phone seems great, but I wonder why these two problem areas were glossed over.
Considering its, over 1 year old, predecessor is still over £400, it doesn't seem possible the successor will be anywhere near that price anytime soon, my mystical, future predicting, friend.

Really impressed with this. Looks great & seems to have top of the line camera, battery, audio, screen and design.
Will have to wait for the reviews to know for sure but £512 is not bad to get on Day 1.

Have been a Samsung, and currently a Nexus owner and I got to admit this phone looks very appealing.
The camera seems to be as good as the Samsung S7 too, which is promising...
