I guess Dark Souls 1 needs no introduction by now. The PC version seems to have some issues, but apparently there's a patch to make it a bit less buggy.

The patch is called DSfix and is very easy to install (see YouTube tutorials)...however even with the patch the game is still buggy and doesn't run smooth compared to DS2 or DS3.

I thought they'd integrated that patch into the main game? I've been playing it on Steam the last week or so (without installing anything besides the main game file) and 18 hours in I haven't had a single issue, consistent 60 fps with no crashes or glitches of any kind.

The game runs at 30fps, not 60. Like skyrim, the engine's physics are tied to the game's native 30fps.

Many thanks for this. Completed the game on PS3 before but have been wanting to jump back into the fire again recently. Will try and finish DS3 first mind.

I think what he means is DSFix allows 60 frames. But the game mechanics are still running at 30.

My point, though, was that a clean vanilla install of DS from steam will run at a locked 30fps, this has not been updated to include the option from dsfix (source: I've just reinstalled the game).

Complete BS, you obviously haven't played it. I've put in many hours into both 360 and PC versions and can confirm the PC version plays brilliantly. Post GFWL I'd say online is even better than ever.
