They only smoke on high fat thing if you set them for longer periods without opening and shaking it stops smoke building up.
I have cooked many things, use it daily, readymade frozen seems to have more fat in already, so having used up fish fingers I have made all my own, I do chicken fillets in breadcrumbs, burgers, sausages, steamed fish yes you can add water in bottom pan, I make ONLY proper chips, rinse under running water to wash starch, no need to soak for 30 mins...dry well I use max of 2 TEAspoon of oil to serve two. Perfect. Use good spuds like maris piper.
Wedges to die for. Either tossed in plain oil with herb and chilli delicious.
I did a roast beef joint, and roast spuds- spot on, the meat was tender.
Bacon is the worst for smoke if you don't open draw and move more regularly and no high smoke. Steak great. sweet potato chips, roasted vegs.
Treat it like a mini fan assisted oven.
I soak pan and basket when still warm with washing up liquid. The grid of basket needs a brush to clean, sometimes pop in dishwasher, bottom pan on bottom shelf and basket on top shelf.
Good phillips recipe app for mobile devices, and if you look on youtube for airfryer, watch the Phillips Aussie ones. To clean inside, round element, the phillips Aussie site shows how.
Overall good gadget we hardly use cooker. The air fryer combined with steamer works well. I always do the potatoes element first take them out needing a few mins more, then do the meat or fish, returning the potatoes back to air fryer for 3 mins on top and around meat / fish . I can part cook things earlier in the day as well.
I even adapted the proper ikea meatball recipe to air-fry rather than fry swimming in butter.. The taste of air fried food is outstanding.
Bought mine on an amazon deal earlier in year. this price good.
Enjoy.

Microwave heating pastry will taste soggy and rubbery, a minute in the airfryer and it tastes and has the texture that it has just freshly come out of oven. Same for day old slices of pizza.

Yeah good old home made chips are best in a deep fryer. but "frozen" chips/fries etc in the air fryer are good.

They are lying. Chips are so inferior compared to a proper fryer. Do not believe the hype.

Yup its been stuck at £90 at Amazon etc, so this is a nice £20 off. Its one of the few kitchen gadgets... actually its the only kitchen gadget that has stayed. Even the Tassimo will get the boot once the pods are done.
