Surprisingly nice phone. Build quality is excellent, camera works well, & the interface is v.fluid (assuming it is updated to a more current build of W10Mobile)
Well worth the money.

& in other news, Microsoft has just announced that they will be making significant improvements to the Windows Maps apps - specifically regarding navigation (which is its current weakness vs Here Drive).
Apple has Apple Maps
Google has Google Maps
Microsoft will soon just have Microsoft Maps
The strategy makes sense. Also, I dare say HERE will pull out of the consumer space entirely. It is now owned by a consortium of car manufacturers - so their focus almost certainly isn't going to be in the smartphone space.
No drama.

Victim blaming suggests that those foolish enough to download nefarious apps should take no responsibility for doing so? I agree the app store owners should shoulder a portion of the blame, but so should users! Fake apps are very easy to identify, as JoeSpur has already eluded to, most, if not all the main apps that most people use, in the case of his example social networking, they all create their own apps, under their own development centres. Facebook is made by Facebook inc, Twitter is made by Twitter Inc, Snapchat is made by Snapchat Inc. The latter is the perfect example of using third party supplied applications. Snapchat isn't present on the Windows Mobile Store, there were a number of third party options, but a breach in their security was traced back to a particular third party app which lost all the personal information of people that used the app. It no longer exists for that reason! There are also quick and easy ways of finding out if an app is endorsed or not. Outsourcing app development is not uncommon, but their own websites will link to the relevant app store page for what you need. Banking is an example of that, my bank provides an app on the google play store that is developed elsewhere, but I got the link from my bank, I know it is good!
It is too easy to blame everyone else when ultimately, all the information is there for you make the right choice! If in doubt, ask!

There are a few things that work nicely on Windows 10. Outlook is supposed to be good, and Here. Skype and Facebook are not bad either - where else do you get that for 20 pounds?

Because, if you cannot afford an iPhone, and want a "value" phone, Windows Mobile > Android.

You buy a payg handset... use if for a while... then upgrade it meaning you dont have to pay for a topup to do so.
