Hershey's chocolate taste like sick because of how it was originally made. Hershey invented a method of making chocolate that didn't require the milk to be particularly fresh. People (for some incomprehensible reason) got used to chocolate with the distinct taste and smell of sour milk / puke.
When technology advanced and milk was kept fresher for longer, Hershey started using fresh milk but faced a backlash from their customers because the chocolate didn't have that distinctive vomity tang (seriously... what the hell was wrong with them?). So, if my memory serves, they started adding a chemical called butyric acid to the recipe. Butyric acid is what gives milk the distinctive sour smell and taste.

Have to say, I am a chocoholic yet cannot stand these personally. Heat added as it is a good price for those who like them and struggle to find them in the UK.

They are vomit flavoured - due to the acid they use to pasteurise the milk...
I guess it's a deal though...
