Stumbled across the Hedgecutter by accident due to the HUKD post of the 15% of everything in Wickes over the Easter weekend!
So if you can find one in your local store, this weekend it could cost you as little as £42.50! (£49.99 less 15% off everything Bank Holiday sale Fri - Sun)
It's an instore only deal BUT you can check online for stock in your area, from experience I would ring before going down there though. Seems quite a few spread across the country.
Good luck and don't shoot the messenger if there's not one near you. :)
* I've done a price check across most retailers and the norm seems to be circa £90 - £105 and the cheapest I've been able to find it on preview HUKD posts is £59.99.

Had to drop someone off at Heathrow for 6am today, so popped into both Feltham and Teddington/Twickenham stores who were showing two each in stock overnight. Feltham only had one, labelled 'Battery missing', so I legged it over to the other store. There were two in stock 'out the back'. On opening the first one, the battery was missing. The other one was sealed and complete with battery - yay! Went through at £42.49.
Moral of the story. If you find one in stock, check the box to make sure the battery is still inside before leaving the store.
Thanks for the post OP. Heat added, natch.

Cheers OP. Good spot. Been borrowing parents' hedge trimmer for ages!
Wish I'd seen 89quidyoucantgowrong post before I went though. Of the two in stock in Clifton I managed to get one with no battery and had to go back and swap for the remaining one. I made sure to check that before I drove away!

Yes, it was the apex roundabout store which had a repackaged one on display with a 'no battery' sticker - and apparently none out the back even though the website said two in stock.
