At £185 (plus a fiver delivery), you're ~£30 off a 390 or 970 - a tiny bit more money for massively increased performance.
But at the risk of sounding like a broken record, we're about to enjoy all the lovely new hardware in a couple of months. Don't buy anything unless you're overwhelmingly desperate!

That's not why i mentioned it to be honest. Just wanted to make sure folk knew it was free delivery
Although another £35 will get you an R9 390 from Scan at the moment, which is a bigger step up (around the performance of the 290X on those graphs).

still seems a good price for the STRIX version though. Heat!

Whilst I would agree with that, show me where it's £30 - seems more like £50-55. If you're including the profits auctioning off a game code you might receive too, not everyone is gonna do that, and it doesn't change the outlay they have to make to buy one.

The Strix 390 isn't even very good. It runs hotter than most other 390s, reaching the high 80s with the standard fan profile. Asus' customer service is truly awful as well. I'd take XFX's card over it any day.
Both AMD and Nvidia will be releasing new cards in the next few months. They likely won't be in the same price bracket as this one though. Nvidia's will be priced at around £300 (GTX 1070) and £450 (GTX 1080). AMD might release a mid-range model, but what performance it'll offer and what price it'll be is pure guesswork for now.
